You want to get your brand name out there and take control of the great product or service that you have to offer. A good way of doing this is to use marketing to create a personal relationship between what you have to offer and what the customer is looking for.
According to Rick Roth of Advertising Age, “Chief marketing officers (CMO) who understand the interplay between their key retailers and their brand also fair better. How retailers advertise a shelved product also adds to or detracts from a brand’s value.”

I read a new book
recently called Secrets to Social Success about how people interact socially and this quote was at the beginning and it sort of stunned me because it is the basis of how I sell annuities.

I have long believed that selling annuities is about knowing and understanding how people feel. Once you know how they feel it is possible to probe deeply into their personal life and their finances. This goes hand in hand with the need to be appreciated. Appreciation is understanding how another person relates to you, themselves and their surroundings.

Heard of Squidoo? I’ve only been using it a few weeks, but the website has major buzz and justifiably so. The site is an incredible marketing tool. Basically it’s a web page builder… You can build what they call lenses which are simply web pages. Your lense can be about any topic you choose. It could be a professional bio, an article about insurance, maybe you want to review an annuity product or you simply want to show off pictures of your grandkids or pets.

Signature lines are a great way to prospect and make the most of a medium you are already using. You already send e-mail’s to friends, family, and business colleges but perhaps you don’t want to present your opportunity outright to them. Let’s face it, most of us have been in more than one network marketing opportunity and have “burned some bridges”. Adding a compelling signature line to your e-mail’s allows you to say whatever you want, provide a “link” to your marketing web page and do it without any pressure or obligation.
Think about it, how many emails do you send out every day? How many of these forwarded jokes, pictures, stories and things of that nature, do you receive every week?

Here is the scenario. You were tired of the corporate rat race and wanted your own piece of the pie. You read enough articles, saw enough on TV, and read enough books to finally realize the only way you were going to get ahead was to start and run your own business. You took what little savings you had and then jumped ship with a two week notice to the corporate big wigs.
Now one of two things has happened. You are either six months into your business, have your business cards, letterhead, website, one or two clients (or none), and are running out of your savings, or you have been in business for a couple of years and are just scraping by.

How could anything be any simpler! A nice card thanking someone.
Why don’t we all do it? Mostly because we don’t have a system or because it works so well we don’t do it anymore. I send them and it has generated more good will and annuity sales than ever imagined. Plus it is easy and cheap to do. Here are some tips for you”
• Always make it handwritten and in card form
• Never use a postage machine, always a stamp
• Put the stamp on slightly crooked, just a little

I hate to break bad news to you but if you sell on yield and returns you are nothing more than a bank clerk. Bank clerks don’t earn much and neither will you if you don’t get away from this nonsense.
I am bombarded constantly from sales organizations with the latest ad, greatest product that will make it easy to sell. If I concentrated on that I would be working at the bank.
Nothing wrong with working at the bank except I make more money every 2 weeks than most bank clerks make in a year.
